Yesterday, I went to see the documentary film "The Swimming Clown" starring Hisashi Fuhara with friends from my Guatemala days!!
The film featured interviews with many people he worked with over the years, and included scenes from his visit to Guatemala for the first time in about 30 years. It brought back so many memories!
Through the film, I could really sense how sincerely Hisashi has engaged with his mission, his performances, and his fellow companions over so many years. I was struck anew by what a deeply loving person he is.
It's not just his star quality—it's his character that draws people to him and creates that magnetic pull.
Though he retired as a performer last year, the film left me with great anticipation for what he'll do next!
The screening runs through 6/23, so please visit your local cinema and experience the emotion for yourselves!
