A Programmer's Voice: The Story of Person A

Published 9/21/2024

It's the first day of September's second holiday break. I hope you're all enjoying some well-deserved rest.

Following up on our previous message, I'd like to introduce you to the voice of programmer A, who participated in a project alongside K, our project manager.

He is a male engineer in his mid-20s who graduated from a local information technology university and worked for a local company. However, due to deteriorating political conditions in his country, his living situation has become increasingly difficult.

He would genuinely prefer to work overseas in Japan or the United States, but his family members are ill, so he cannot leave the country. Despite these challenging circumstances, he continues to work hard.

※Since he is based in his home country, the project is being conducted entirely online. ※Personal names and country names have been modified to protect his privacy. The original text was written in English.

・Programmer A

"I am deeply grateful for this opportunity. Inflation in our country is severe, and my salary in particular has not kept pace with rising prices. Your support means more to me than ever before, and I'm truly thankful that I can now support my family. I live in the capital, while my family lives in a village near a neighboring country.

By participating in this project, I was able to expand my coding knowledge. If opportunities arise in the future, I would like to participate in many more projects.

In particular, the support from Usui, who patiently answered my questions and clarified the project requirements, was invaluable. His guidance was especially critical during the initial phase, when I was dealing with considerable anxiety."
